I pray that this email finds you doing well.
Over the last few years, I have had a few opportunities to get to know Pastor and well-known author, Mark Batterson. Mark is doing a great job in Washington D.C. pastoring and writing books that are really making a difference in the lives of many.
Possibly my favorite book of his is “Chase the Lion”, and in that book, there is a paragraph that perpetually challenges my soul.
Would you take a moment to read it and allow it to shape your prayer time this morning?
“Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Run to the roar. Set God-sized dreams. Pursue God-given passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Stop pointing out the problems. Become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past. Start creating the future. Face your fears. Fight for your dreams. Grab opportunity by the mane and don’t let it go. Live like today is the first day and the last day of your life. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze new trails. Live for the applause of nail-scarred hands. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshipping God. Dare to fail. Dare to be different. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.
… Chase the Lion.”
Praying for you!
